Profile of Hillary Jung, PhD
Hillary Jung, PhD has over 18 years of experience improving organizational performance through assessment, evaluation, feedback and incentive systems. She has led and managed complex, strategic initiatives aimed at accountability for performance and continual improvement in the education sector and for integrated healthcare systems that lead the nation in service, care, and healthcare outcomes.
She earned her doctoral degree in Performance Systems Design from Wayne State University, where her research focused on intervention selection decision-making by performance improvement professionals and how various sources of information are weighed during this process. This work was later published in Performance Improvement Quarterly and honored by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) for excellence in student research. Her professional work and research agenda continue to emphasize strategies that support sound decision-making that is grounded in relevant, valid, and reliable data and evidence.
A long-time member of ISPI, she has given many presentations and chaired several committees, including a day-long session focused on evidence-based practice and tested solutions. She is currently authoring a book to aid practitioners in applying system-oriented analytical techniques in a manner that yield informed design solutions.
